Murry Stegelmann manages Kilimanjaro Advisors, LLC which he founded in April 2003. He is responsible for portfolio management, risk management, trading as well as general management and oversight.
Prior to that, Murry was a Managing Director and Corporate Officer of GE Capital. He created the Bank Loan Group in 1996 and managed it till he left GE Capital. Under his direction, the Bank Loan Group grew to 50 employees and became the most profitable segment of GE Capital’s Corporate Financial Services business, with the after tax net income of US$ 222 Million and the value of its assets exceeding US$ 4.6 Billion.
Prior to running the Bank Loan Group, Murry spent four years in the LBO Workout Group of GE Capital, where he was responsible for restructuring a variety of companies. As a loan investor, he has participated in over 95 bankruptcies or restructurings. He has also been involved in GE Capital’s purchase of distressed assets or financial institutions in Hungary, Mexico and Japan, and has overseen GE Capital’s Asset Securitization group.
Murry is also a non-managing member of Impala Partners, a nationally-recognized turnaround restructuring and financial advisory firm.
Murry graduated first in his class at the Columbia Business School, and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Hillsdale College.
