Leveraging its experience in the fleet management business, V-Link has entered the business of providing metered taxi services. The Company commenced its taxi operations in the city of Mumbai in April 2007 under a special scheme promoted by the Government of Maharastra. The Company operates its fleet of modern, air-conditioned and GPS-enabled taxis under the brand name “MERU”.

The name MERU is rooted in Indian tradition. Mount MERU is a sacred mountain considered to be the center of the universe. Hindu tradition says that during the churning of the oceans (Sagar Manthan), the central mountain MERU
