Launched in 1991, SFO Technologies is the holding company for NeST Group, India’s largest independent electronics manufacturing services group. SFO is headquartered in Kochi and has manufacturing units located in Kochi, Bengaluru and Mysore. Additionally, SFO has an R&D centre in Kochi and a software centre in Trivandrum. SFO designs and manufactures micro-electronics, populated PCBs, optical components for broadband networks, power electronics systems, connectors, cables, subsystems and micro circuit assemblies used in products like MRI, ultrasound scanners, X-ray generators, set top boxes for cable TV, etc. SFO is renowned for excellent quality driven by a Six Sigma program and validated by best supplier awards from exacting customers like GE Medical.

With IVFA, SFO’s management was restructured to be able to focus on business verticals. It expanded its existing production capacity by 1.5X to cater to increasing demand. SFO also acquired an Ericsson subsidiary in Sweden manufacturing active optical components. It invested in a new sheet metal and plastic fabrication facility in Bengaluru enabling it to scale up assembly of ultrasound scanners for GE.
