Gary Wendt is the
Ex-Chairman & CEO of Conseco, a NYSE listed
financial services company. Before joining
Conseco, he was worldwide Chairman and CEO
of General Electric Capital Corporation (GECC)
and General Electric Capital Services, Inc
(GECS).
Gary joined GE in 1975. Assuming positions
of increasing responsibility, in 1984 he was
appointed Executive Vice-President of GECC
and GECS. In 1986, he was appointed President
& CEO of GECC and President & COO
of GECS. |

In 1991, he was
appointed Chairman, President & CEO of
GECC and GECS.
During a 15-year tenure as CEO of GECC and
GECS, Gary played a leading role in building
GE into the largest non-bank financial institution
in the US, as well as a leading global finance
company with operations in 45 countries and
assets of approximately US$ 300 billion by
the end of 1998. He was instrumental in establishing
GE's private equity investment program, which
as of March |

1999 invested
approximately US$ 1.7 billion in 186 private
equity investments globally. Further, Gary
was instrumental in the creation of domestic
and international investment programs for
GE.
He holds prominent positions in philanthropic
organizations (including the Boys & Girls
Clubs of America and the United Way). Gary
holds a Bachelor of Science from the University
of Wisconsin and an MBA from Harvard. |
